Daily Schedule @ Wingle-Tye I

This schedule is varied on a daily basis across the week.

Time

Description
9:00 Morning and all day session children arrive, children come in and find their own pictured coat pegs to hang their coats/bags on, children then self-register by finding their own name and placing them on the welcome bird. Children then gather on the carpet for news/discussion time.
9:15

Free Play – There are various indoor activities/toys set up in both of our rooms which compliment our topics/themes. Children also choose which toys they would like to have out each day.

Children also have access to the outside area where they can play with a wide variety of outdoor resources.
10:15 Tidy Up time, all children are encouraged help to tidy away all resources.
10:20 Story time/Circle time/ Music time – These activities are varied on a daily basis, for story time and circle time children are encouraged to sit on the carpet while either stories are read, news is being shared by the children or themes and topics are being discussed in line with our curriculum. Music and movement time allows children the opportunity to sing, dance and play with musical instruments.
10:30 Snack time – Children are given the responsibility to help prepare the snack, they put out the jugs of milk and water and place them on the tables, they also chop food for the snack. At snack time children are actively encouraged to be independent i.e wash their hands, collect a cup, choose where they would like to sit, choose what food to eat and pour their own drinks. Children are offered a varied assortment of snacks across the week.
10:50 Free Play – Children can play indoor or outdoors and they also choose what toys they would like to play with or what activities they would like to do. including:

  • Balance beams
  • Chalking
  • Hoops and Bean bags
  • Dressing up
  • Home corner
  • Playdough
11:45 Tidy Up time, all children are encouraged help to tidy away all toys and resources.
11:55 Morning children collect their coats and bags ready to go home
12:00

Morning children go home and all day children prepare for Lunch
Afternoon Session – Children arrive, they also hang their coats/bags on their pegs and self-register by finding their own name and placing it on the welcome bird.
Lunch time Children all eat their packed lunch
12:40 Quiet time – Children choose to look at books, play with quieter resources, e.g. puzzles.
12:50 Free Play – There are various indoor activities/toys set up in both of our rooms which complement our topics/themes. Children also choose which toys they would like to have out each day. Different resources are put out from those in the morning session.

2:10 Tidy Up time, all children are encouraged help to tidy away all toys and resources
2:15 Drink time.
2:30 Story time/Circle time/Music time – These activities are varied on a daily basis. Music and movement allows children the opportunity to sing, dance and play with musical instruments and for circle time children are encouraged to sit on the carpet while news is being shared by the children or themes and topics are being discussed.  
2:50 All children collect their coats and bags ready to go home.
